GSK CNC Pipe Threading Lathe Machines are designed for manufacturers that need stable turning and threading of pipes, tubes, drill rods, couplings and other long cylindrical components. The QK series combines a large spindle bore, front and rear workholding, CNC-controlled threading and a rigid horizontal lathe structure to handle pipe work that is difficult to process efficiently on a conventional CNC lathe.
The series covers applications from smaller pipe threads to large-diameter industrial and oilfield components. Internal and external threads, metric and inch threads, taper threads, boring, facing and general turning can be incorporated into the machining process according to the selected model and configuration.
For pipe machining, the first selection criteria should normally be the required pipe threading range, spindle bore, workpiece length and load. Choosing only by swing diameter can result in a machine that cannot pass or clamp the actual pipe correctly.
| Model | Pipe Threading Range | Swing Over Bed | Distance Between Centers | Max. Load | Typical Selection |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| QK1313 | 30–126 mm | 630 / 800 mm | 1000–6000 mm | 3 T | Smaller pipe and threaded components |
| QK1319 | 50–193 mm | 630 / 800 mm | 1000–6000 mm | 3 T | Drill pipe, tubing and couplings |
| QK1322 | 50–220 mm | 630 / 800 mm | 1000–6000 mm | 3 T | Medium pipe threading applications |
| QK1325 | 50–250 mm | 800 / 1000 mm | 1000–6000 mm | 4 T | Heavier pipe and industrial fittings |
| QK1327C | 50–270 mm | 800 / 1000 mm | 1000–6000 mm | 4 T | Larger pipe and long workpieces |
| QK1338 | 190–380 mm | 1000 mm | 1500 / 3000 mm | 6 T | Large-diameter heavy pipe work |
| QK1343 / QK1350 / QK1363 | Heavy-duty models for larger pipe diameters. Final machining range and configuration should be selected according to your pipe drawing and project requirements. | Large pipe / heavy-duty projects | |||

A CNC pipe threading lathe machine is a horizontal CNC lathe developed specifically for turning and threading tubular workpieces. Unlike a standard CNC lathe that is mainly selected around chuck diameter and swing, a pipe threading machine uses a large spindle through-hole and pipe-supporting workholding system so long tubular material can pass through the headstock.
The GSK QK series can perform internal and external pipe threading while retaining common CNC turning functions such as end facing, outside diameter turning and bore machining. This makes the machine suitable for both new component production and repair work on drilling pipes, threaded couplings and other industrial pipe components.
The large through-spindle design allows pipe and tube stock to pass through the headstock. This is a key difference between a dedicated pipe threading CNC lathe and a general-purpose CNC turning machine.
Double workholding supports long pipe stock at both sides of the spindle area. Stable clamping helps reduce pipe movement and vibration during thread cutting, facing and heavy turning.
GSK QK-series specifications use a high-strength one-piece iron bed to provide the structural support required for long workpieces and pipe-thread cutting loads.
Ultrasonic-frequency quenched guideways are used to improve wear resistance. The carriage and guideway contact design is intended to maintain stable movement during repeated industrial machining.
CNC synchronization of spindle rotation and axis feed enables repeatable thread production and reduces dependence on manual thread-cutting adjustment.
In addition to pipe threading, the machine can be configured for facing, OD turning, internal bore machining and other common CNC lathe operations required before or after thread production.
The QK-series CNC pipe thread lathe machines are designed for a wider range of threading work than simple straight-thread production. Depending on tooling, CNC programming and the selected machine configuration, the series can process:
If your production requires a specific oil-country, casing, tubing or proprietary connection profile, send GSK the thread drawing or required standard before ordering. Our technical team can confirm the suitable machine, tooling and CNC configuration instead of relying only on a model number.
Long pipe stock behaves differently from a short solid shaft. If the pipe is supported only on one side, overhang and rotation can increase vibration and make stable thread cutting more difficult.
A double chuck CNC lathe supports the pipe around the spindle from both sides. This provides more stable workholding for long tubular workpieces and makes the configuration particularly useful for oil tubing, casing, drill pipe and industrial steel pipe.
Threading and turning of oilfield tubing, casing, drilling pipe, drilling rods and threaded couplings where long workpieces and reliable connection geometry are required.
End machining and threading of seamless or welded steel pipe used in industrial pipeline and equipment manufacturing.
Machining of pipe connections and threaded tubular components used in chemical processing, energy transmission and industrial piping systems.
Production and repair of drill rods, threaded couplings and related components used for geological exploration and mining operations.
CNC turning and thread production for larger tubular fittings, connectors and cylindrical components that require controlled thread geometry.
Re-facing, boring and re-threading worn pipe ends and threaded components according to the dimensions and repair process required by the customer.
| Selection Factor | CNC Pipe Threading Lathe | Standard CNC Lathe |
|---|---|---|
| Main Workpiece | Pipe, tube, drill rod, coupling | Shafts and general turned parts |
| Spindle Bore | Large pipe-through bore | Usually smaller |
| Workholding | Front/rear pipe clamping | Conventional chuck configuration |
| Threading Focus | Pipe and taper-thread applications | General thread turning |
| Long Pipe Machining | Designed around tubular workpieces | Depends heavily on spindle bore and support |
If your workpieces are mainly shafts, discs or conventional turned components rather than pipe, compare our CNC Lathe Machines before selecting a dedicated pipe threading model.
Pipe threading projects vary significantly in pipe diameter, thread profile, material, production quantity and local electrical requirements. GSK supports OEM and ODM machine configurations so the final specification can be matched to the actual project.
