According to the ongoing processing operations, various CNC machines and tools are used in the CNC machining process to produce customized designed parts or products. Although different operations and applications of equipment may differ in other aspects, the integration of computer numerical control components and software remains consistent across all numerical control processing equipment and processes.
CNC drilling equipment
Drilling uses a rotating drill bit to create cylindrical holes on the workpiece, and the design of the drill bit causes scrap metal (i.e. chips) to detach from the workpiece. The design of the drill bit allows scrap metal, i.e. chips, to detach from the workpiece. There are several types of drill bits, each used for specific applications.
The types of drill bits include point drills (used to produce shallow or pilot holes), peck drills (used to reduce chips on the workpiece), spiral drills (used to produce holes without pilot holes), and chuck reamers (used to expand previously produced holes).
Usually, the CNC drilling process also utilizes CNC function drilling machines, which are specifically designed to perform drilling operations. However, this operation can also be completed through a lathe, tapping, or milling machine.
CNC milling machine equipment
Milling processing uses rotating multi-point cutting tools to shape the workpiece. Milling tools can be horizontal or vertical, including end mills, spiral mills, and chamfer mills.
The CNC milling process also utilizes milling machines with CNC functions, called milling machines or milling cutters, which can be horizontal or vertical. Basic milling machines can perform three-axis motion, and more advanced models can accommodate more axes. The types of milling machines include manual milling, surface milling, multifunctional milling, and multifunctional milling.
CNC turning equipment
Turning uses single point cutting tools to remove material from rotating workpieces. The design of turning tools varies depending on the specific application, including tools for rough machining, precision machining, surface machining, thread machining, forming, bottom cutting, slitting, and groove cutting.
The CNC turning process also utilizes a lathe or lathe with CNC functions. The types of lathes include turret lathes, engine lathes, and special purpose lathes.
