Operation problems of CNC lathe tool holder

Sep. 08, 2023

A CNC lathe is composed of numerous parts such as a CNC device, bed, spindle box, tool holder feed system, tailstock, hydraulic system, cooling system, lubrication system, chip conveyor, etc. It can also be equipped with the following two forms of tool holders.

① Tool holder: Developed by CNC lathe manufacturers themselves, the tool holder used is also a series. Low manufacturing cost, but lack universality.

② Universal tool holder: A tool holder produced according to relevant universal standards, which can be selected and configured by the lathe manufacturer according to the specific functions of the CNC lathe.

1) When the tool holder fails to lock tightly, it indicates:

① The position of the sending tray is not aligned: Remove the top cover of the tool holder, rotate and adjust the position of the sending tray, and then align the Hall element of the tool holder with the magnetic steel, so that the tool position stops at the accurate position.

② The system anti lock time is not long: just adjust the system anti lock time parameter (the new tool holder anti lock time is 1.2 seconds).

③ The locking mechanism of the CNC lathe has malfunctioned: disassemble the tool holder, adjust the machinery, and check if the positioning pin is broken.

2) Continuous operation or non-stop positioning of the tool holder:

① Due to the continuous operation of the tool holder, the probability of overall failure of the CNC lathe is very low, mainly starting from the electrical position.

② Check if the in place signal is sent out. If the in place signal is not sent out, it indicates that the sending tray has malfunctioned.

③ Is there any wear on the elastic contact of the sending tray, and is there any open circuit, poor contact, or leakage in the ground wire. At this point, it is necessary to replace the elastic contact or repair it, and troubleshoot the circuit based on the relay contact, in place switch contact, and circuit connection in the circuit.
