Causes of tool jam in tool magazine of high-speed vertical machining center

We know that the tool magazine and automatic tool change device are the most frequently used parts of the high-speed vertical machining center. Especially when there are many parts to be processed, the tool needs to be changed frequently to realize the processing of different processes. If there is a problem in the machine tool itself or some abnormality in the processing, it will cause the tool jam in the tool magazine. There are many failures that cause tool jam in the tool magazine of high-speed vertical machining center. Common ones are external factors such as power cut off, which is commonly known as sudden power failure, or insufficient air pressure, and the tool cannot be pulled out normally. However, it is more common that the internal reasons are formed, such as the position of the second tool change origin is abnormal, and the spindle orientation angle is incorrect.


1. Incorrect spindle orientation angle


The running of the orientation angle is generally caused by the collision of the machine, or by the problem of the synchronous tooth belt of the main shaft, resulting in the error of the orientation angle. The inaccurate orientation will also cause the abnormal tool change of the tool magazine and other problems.


2. The second tool change origin position is abnormal


If the high-speed vertical machining center has collided with the machine due to misoperation, Zui is prone to cause incorrect tool change origin, which is manifested by the abnormal noise of tool arm drawing and tool loading during tool change, and even causes tool jam. The tool arm will also be damaged after a long time.


2、 Solution to tool jam fault in tool magazine of high-speed vertical machining center


In brief, there are two cases of tool jam in the tool magazine. One is that the tool is not pulled out, and the other is that the tool has been pulled out. The * case is relatively good to solve. We mainly introduce the solution for the second case.


1. Loosen the brake device on the motor, and use the adjustable wrench to rotate the outer hexagon on the motor. Generally, the rotation direction is the same as the clamping direction of the tool arm. In short, let the automatic tool change tool arm disengage from the spindle of the high-speed vertical machining center.


2. When the tool arm disengages from the main shaft, if there is a tool on the main shaft that can hear air leakage, that is, the main shaft is in the state when the tool is loose. This is to note that something must be placed on the tooling, and the tool will fall at this time.


3. Please keep rotating the tool arm until the tool arm completes a complete tool change. The tool arm also has an origin position. In the tool magazine panel, there are three red lights inside. Generally, the indicator light in the middle is that the tool arm is at the origin position.


4. After removing the tool jam fault, move the brake device of the tool arm motor back to the original position, and then carry out a tool change action when the high-speed vertical machining center is in the MDI state to see if it is normal. If it is normal, please remember to check all the tools used for processing, and then carry out processing under the condition of ensuring safety.
