The following aspects need to be done for the cleaning of castings in CNC machining centers:
1. Remove the pouring date
The pouring date of cast iron parts is generally knocked off with a hand hammer or a sledgehammer. Large cast iron parts must first be sawed at the root and then knocked off with a heavy hammer: cast steel parts must be cut with gas cutting or plasma arc to remove the pouring head; the pouring head of non-ferrous alloy castings must be cut off with a saw.
2. Remove the core
When a single piece is produced in small batches, it can be done manually; when it is produced in batches, mechanical devices are often used, such as vibrating core removal machines or hydraulic sand cleaning devices to remove the core and core bones.
3. Remove sticky sand
There is often a layer of sand adhered to the surface of the casting, which needs to be cleaned. Removing sticky sand can be done manually or by a roller machine. Large quantities of small and medium-sized castings are often cleaned with rollers.
4. Finishing of castings
The cleaning of flash, burrs and residual pouring head marks on castings generally uses various grinding machines, hand chisels, wind shovels and other tools to trim them.
5. Heat treatment of cast iron parts
Some castings need to be heat treated after cleaning. Common methods include: stress elimination annealing and high temperature annealing. Important castings with complex structures and high requirements need to be annealed to eliminate internal stress, that is, the castings are heated to 6000C-6000C, kept at 2-4h, and slowly cooled with the furnace. If the surface of the casting has a hard and brittle white structure that affects processing, it can be eliminated by high temperature annealing. The annealing temperature is 900'C-950C, kept at 2^-5h, and then cooled with the furnace.
6. Inspection
When cleaning castings in CNC machining centers, the cleaned castings must be inspected for quality, qualified castings are accepted and stored, defective castings are repaired as appropriate, and waste products are analyzed. Find out the causes and propose preventive measures.
