Application of various CNC machine tools

Sep. 16, 2021

According to the ongoing machining operations, various CNC machine tools and machine tools are used to produce custom-designed parts or products during the CNC machining process. Although the equipment for different operations and applications may be different in other aspects, the integration of computer numerical control components and software remains consistent in all numerical control processing equipment and processes.

CNC drilling equipment

Drilling uses a rotating drill to create a cylindrical hole in the workpiece. The design of the drill makes the scrap metal (ie, chips) fall off the workpiece. The design of the drill bit allows scrap metal, i.e. chips, to fall off the workpiece. There are several types of drill bits, each of which is used for a specific application. The types of drill bits include spot drills (used to produce shallow holes or pilot holes), peck drills (used to reduce chips on the workpiece), auger drills (used to produce holes without pilot holes), and chuck reamers (used to produce holes without pilot holes) Expand previously produced holes).

Usually, the CNC drilling process also utilizes CNC-enabled drilling machines, which are specifically designed to perform drilling operations. However, this operation can also be done with a lathe, tapping or milling machine.

CNC milling machine equipment

Milling uses rotating multi-point cutting tools to shape the workpiece. Milling tools can be horizontal or vertical, including end mills, spiral milling cutters and chamfer milling cutters.

The CNC milling process also uses a milling machine with CNC functions, called a milling machine or a milling cutter, which can be horizontal or vertical. The basic milling machine is capable of three-axis motion, and more advanced models can accommodate more axes. The types of milling machines include manual milling, face milling, multi-function milling and multi-function milling.

CNC turning equipment

Turning uses single-point cutting tools to remove material from rotating workpieces. The design of turning tools varies according to the specific application. There are tools for rough machining, finishing, face machining, thread machining, forming, undercutting, slitting and grooving.

The CNC turning process also utilizes CNC function lathes or lathes. The types of lathes include turret lathes, engine lathes and special-purpose lathes.
