Analyzing the causes of machining scale errors in CNC lathe workpieces

03. 22, 2024

As is well known, CNC lathe is a new type of machining equipment equipped with CNC system, servo control system and other control equipment, as well as high-precision feed system, tool magazine and other execution mechanisms. In terms of processing form, it is different from any machining machine tool so far. Generally speaking, a CNC lathe is a high-precision and efficient machining equipment that integrates automated machining and composite centralized machining. However, there are many factors that ultimately affect the machining accuracy and efficiency of the workpiece. This article briefly introduces the reasons for the machining scale error of CNC lathe workpieces, hoping to be useful to us.

The main reasons for the formation of machining scale errors in workpieces

We know that CNC lathes are composed of control systems, servo drive equipment, servo motors, mechanical feed equipment, worktable parts, reaction measurement equipment, etc. When processing workpieces, after numerical operations in the CNC system, the control signal is announced to the servo drive equipment to drive the servo motor to rotate. Then, it is handed over to the worktable by the mechanical feed equipment, causing relative motion between the workpiece and the tool. At the same time, the orientation detection reaction equipment converts the actual relative movement between the workpiece and the tool into an electrical signal and responds to the CNC equipment. The CNC equipment compares the instruction displacement with the corresponding actual displacement, thereby processing workpieces that meet the requirements of the machining program design.

However, in the practical processing of CNC lathes, it is often found that the relative movement between the workpiece and the tool is not completely in accordance with the instruction values, resulting in the machining part scale not matching the design. Thus, the occurrence of processing scale errors is presented. The main reasons for this type of problem are: the actual rotation value of the servo motor matches the instruction rotation value, but the relative movement between the workpiece and the tool does not meet the requirements; The actual rotation value of the servo motor does not match the instruction rotation value; Zero position error of machine tool transmission system; There are several reasons for external interference, pulse loss, and mechanical problems.
